How to Activate Norton 360

Activating Norton 360 is required to enable all features included in the software. Once activated, your product will remain active for the next 366 days. This quick guide shows you how to activate your Norton 360 product.

Norton 360 activation during installation

With working Internet connection, activation will complete automatically upon Norton 360 first start after successful installation. During activation you can create Norton Account, which is an online repository at Symantec, that keeps track of your products and subscriptions. Creating Norton Account takes only a few minutes but it's highly recommended, because it's a convenient way to retrieve your product key if you accidentally lose it for some reason.

With Norton Account setup, you can also view details about product updates and other announcements relevant to you.

If you skip Norton Account creation, Norton can still be activated, but your product key will not be stored for you. In this case, it's recommended to print the key you received from Symantec and to keep it in a safe place for future use.

Norton 360 activation after installation

If your Norton 360 product hasn't been activated during installation, you may still activate it at any time later on. In fact, Norton 360 will prompt for activation each time you start it. If not activated in time, Norton 360 will stop working, so make sure to meet the deadline shown in the alert window.

Norton 360 can be activated directly from the activation alert window, from the Main Window or from the My Account window. Keep your product key at hand, because it will be required to complete the activation process.

Internet connection is required to complete activation!

Activate Norton 360 from the Main Window:

  • Click the Norton tray icon to open the Main Window
  • Click My Account from the top menu
  • Click Activate Norton 360 or Renew Subscription in the My Account window. The Renew Subscription option will only show if your Norton 360 is already activated.
  • Follow the instructions to complete activation
  • Click Done
